The Flintr charter

Built so this can't happen to you twice.

Flintr is independent and funded by its users. These four commitments are written into our bylaws, so they don't depend on who owns the company.

01

Model-neutral, forever

No exclusive deals and no house model ranked above the rest. When a better model ships on Tuesday, it's in Flintr by Wednesday.

In practice

  • No exclusive agreements that limit which models you can use
  • No house model ranked, defaulted or discounted above the rest
  • New frontier models added as soon as they're publicly available
02

Usage at list price

Anything beyond your included usage is billed at the provider's list price. No credits, no multipliers, no "fast request" maths.

In practice

  • On-demand usage is charged at the provider's published list price
  • Prices are shown in dollars per request, never in credits
  • Plan changes are announced 60 days in advance
03

Your code stays yours

Privacy mode is on by default, with zero-retention agreements across every provider. Your code never trains anyone's model.

In practice

  • Privacy mode is on by default for every account
  • Zero-data-retention agreements with every model provider
  • Your code is never used to train any model, ours or anyone else's
04

Leave whenever you like

Export settings, rules, chats and history in one click. If you can't leave an editor, you never really chose it.

In practice

  • Export settings, rules, chats and history at any time
  • No cancellation fees and no retention dark patterns
  • Your data is deleted within 30 days of closing your account

How it's enforced

Promises are cheap. Bylaws aren't.

Written into our bylaws

The charter isn't a blog post. It's part of the company's bylaws, so changing it requires a formal board and shareholder vote.

It travels with the company

If ownership ever changes, the commitments transfer to the new owner as a condition of the deal.

Or you get your money back

If a new owner won't keep them, every annual plan is refunded for the unused months, automatically.

FAQ

Charter questions.

What happens if Flintr is acquired?

The charter transfers with the company as a condition of any sale. If a buyer won't accept it, annual subscribers are refunded for every unused month, and monthly subscribers can cancel at any time anyway.

Can the charter be changed?

Only by a formal vote of the board and shareholders, announced publicly at least 60 days in advance. Changes never apply to a billing period you've already paid for.

Who funds Flintr?

Subscriptions. Flintr doesn't sell ads or data, and there's no parent company with its own models or platform to promote.

Does Flintr have its own models?

Tab completion runs on a small model we built for fast, inline suggestions. For chat and agents there's no house model, and nothing is ranked above the frontier models from other providers.

Your editor. Your models. Your bill.

Flintr is in development and funded by the people who'll use it. Back the launch from €5, or from €25 to get into the private beta.
