Switching from Windsurf
Bring your Windsurf setup to an independent editor.
Windsurf, now called Devin Desktop, and Flintr share the same Code OSS foundation, so moving across is mostly copying files. The import handles rules, MCP servers and settings for you.
$ flintr import --from windsurfFlintr is in development. The importer ships with the private beta, which backers from €25 get first.

FAQ
Switching from Windsurf, answered.
Does the import work now that Windsurf is Devin Desktop?
Yes. Cognition renamed Windsurf to Devin Desktop in June 2026 and kept existing settings, extensions and rules, so the import reads a Devin Desktop profile the same way as a Windsurf one.
Are Windsurf rules converted automatically?
Yes. Files in .windsurf/rules and legacy .windsurfrules files are converted to .flintr/rules. The originals stay where they are.
Do my MCP servers come across?
Yes. Servers from your Windsurf MCP configuration are imported with their settings and connect after the import finishes.
Can I run both editors at once?
Yes. The import only reads your Windsurf profile, so both editors keep working.
