How billing works

One subscription. One invoice. No surprises.

Here's exactly how a month on Pro+ turns into a bill.

Included usage comes first

Every request draws from the usage included in your plan, measured in dollars at each provider's list price. Tab completions never count.

Then list price, per token

Once it's used up, requests are billed at exactly what the provider publishes for input, output and cached tokens. No credits, no multipliers.

Capped where you say

Set a hard monthly cap. When you reach it, fall back to fast models or pause premium requests. Alerts fire at thresholds you choose.

Pinned projects

Every request from a pinned project is billed to its plan. Choose per project whether on-demand usage stays there or borrows from the rotation first.

Rotation in your order

Unpinned projects use the first plan in your order with included usage left, then the next. Leave a plan out and nothing else touches it.

Separate bills, one sign-in

Each plan keeps its own invoice, payment method and spend cap, all managed from the same account.

Just need more usage? Upgrading is better value: one Pro+ includes $70 for $60, while two Pro plans include $40 for $40.

FAQ

Pricing questions.

What does "model usage included" mean?

Every paid plan comes with a monthly amount of model usage, measured in dollars at each provider's list price. Pro includes $20, Pro+ includes $70 and Ultra includes $400. Any model counts against it, and Tab completions never do.

What happens when I use up my included usage?

Further requests are billed on demand at the provider's published per-token list price, with no markup. You see the cost of every request in the editor, and on-demand usage appears as one line on your monthly invoice. If you'd rather not pay more, set a hard cap of $0 and Flintr switches to fast models or pauses premium requests instead.

Is there a markup on on-demand usage?

No. On-demand usage is charged at exactly the price the model provider publishes for input, output and cached tokens. Our margin comes from the subscription itself, not from the tokens you use.

Does unused included usage roll over?

No, included usage resets at the start of each billing period. If you regularly leave a lot unused, a lower tier will probably save you money, and the estimator on this page shows the cheapest plan for your usage.

Can I have more than one subscription?

Yes. One account can hold any mix of Pro, Pro+ and Ultra, including the same plan more than once. Each plan has its own invoice, payment method and spend cap, so client work, side projects and long agent runs can be billed apart under one sign-in.

How do projects choose which subscription to use?

Pin a project to a plan and every request from it is billed there. Projects you don't pin use the rotation: the first plan in your chosen order that still has included usage, then the next. You decide which plans are in the rotation, so a client's plan is never spent on anything else.

What happens when a pinned project's plan runs out?

You choose per project. Either further requests are billed on demand to that same plan, which keeps a client's bill separate, or the project borrows leftover included usage from your rotation first and only then goes on demand.

Is stacking two plans cheaper than upgrading?

No. Two Pro plans cost $40 and include $40 of usage, while one Pro+ costs $60 and includes $70. Stack plans when you want work billed separately, and upgrade when you just want more usage.

Can I switch plans at any time?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and the difference is prorated. Downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period, so you keep what you paid for.

When can I subscribe?

Paid plans open at launch, after the public beta. Flintr is in development and funded by backers: from €25 you get into the private beta, and from €50 you get months of Pro included at launch.

How does Teams pricing work?

Teams is $40 per user per month and includes $20 of model usage per user, pooled across the whole team. Admins can set spend caps per user and org-wide, enforce privacy mode and restrict which models are available.

Your editor. Your models. Your bill.

Flintr is in development and funded by the people who'll use it. Back the launch from €5, or from €25 to get into the private beta.
