Backer terms
The short version of what you're agreeing to when you back Flintr.
- Flintr is a for-profit company. Contributions are payments for the perks of your tier, not charitable donations, and are not tax-deductible.
- You can ask for a full refund for any reason within 14 days of backing. If we haven't shipped a public beta by 30 June 2027, every backer can ask for a full refund.
- Dates on this page are estimates. We'll tell backers about any change in the monthly updates before we tell anyone else.
- Perks are personal and can't be transferred. Pro months are activated on the account using your backing email at launch, and can be used any time in the first year after launch.
- Your name only appears on the supporters wall if you enter one at checkout. Email hello@flintr.ai to remove it at any time.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Is this a donation?
No. Flintr is a for-profit company, so contributions are not charitable donations and are not tax-deductible. Think of it as backing a product before it exists: you fund development and get perks in return.
What happens if you don't reach the goal?
We keep building either way. The goal is what it takes to ship the public beta on schedule; less funding means a smaller team and a later date. If we haven't shipped a public beta by 30 June 2027, every backer can ask for a full refund.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You can ask for a full refund for any reason within 14 days of backing, and again if the public beta misses 30 June 2027. Email hello@flintr.ai with the address you paid with.
When do I get my perks?
Development updates start right away. Beta invites go out by email when the private beta opens, and Pro months are activated on your account at launch. Pro months can be used any time in the first year after launch.
Is my payment secure?
Payments are handled by Stripe on its own secure checkout page. Flintr never sees or stores your card details.
Can my company back the launch?
Yes. Use the form on this page for amounts up to €5,000. For larger amounts, or if you need an invoice with your company details, email sales@flintr.ai.
Why not just take investment?
Because investors eventually want an exit, and an exit is how editors end up owned by someone else. Backers want a good editor. That's the incentive we want to answer to.
